Q&A With Our founder

Meet Theresa, The founder of FenixRose

Q: Can you share a bit about your background and how it influenced your journey into fashion?

A: We can honestly trace my interest in fashion back to childhood and all the countless hours spent with my late aunt, watching the style network (what not to wear, say yes to the dress etc.) or E! News' Fashion Police with the Joan Rivers. Back then I wanted to be a teacher, it wasn't until senior year in high school, I decided to pursue a career in fashion, I then went on to study fashion design in college, fell in love with it and the rest is history.

Q: How do you stay inspired and creative in such a competitive industry?

A: cracks knuckles Challenge Accepted. Period.  I love what I do with my whole heart, and there is nothing or no one that could ever change that. A million and one people can be doing the same thing in the industry but they still aren't me and I have no desire to be them. As far as creativity goes, I turn to nature (Botanical Gardens, anyone?), fashion shows/magazines, Iconic fashion houses, and being the art/fashion history buff I am, may visit a museum or art exhibit for outside inspiration.

Q: Can you share a memorable moment or milestone in FenixRose's journey?

A: Biggest milestone this far: Showcasing New York Fashion Week.

Most memorable moment: I got invited to join a bunch of other creatives on a 5 day conference in Punta Cana. Long story short, I was able to have a number of my pieces shot around the island and on the last day we had a fashion show and I watched my pieces walk a runway along the beach of the DR, which how do you top that?  Also a couple of the shots and videos that we took were used for a couple of advertisements of local businesses in the area where we stayed and visited. Safe to say for a brief moment in time, your girl was internationally published.  (humble brag or whatever)

Q: What advice would you give to aspiring designers or entrepreneurs?

A: Do it for the love and passion. Stick to your story and your roots and don't be afraid to take a few risks. But most importantly Have fun! Don't forget to breathe and take the time to enjoy the world around you in the process.

Q: Where do you see FenixRose in the future? Are there any exciting plans or developments on the horizon?

A: Ask me five years ago, I would have said we're your future Chanel or Versace. Today, while the vision is still there, Chanel and Versace has already been done and the goal is to have The House of Fenix and FenixRose amongst the greats of those Iconic fashion houses before us, leaving behind our own legacy. Even if we don't get that far, we still wanna leave a mark.

As far as developments go, recently, We added FenixPlush to the family which is our extended sizes collection, that we are super excited about. We hope to continue to grow so we can expand the sizes and styles we have to offer

Q: What's been the most rewarding aspect of building FenixRose for you personally?

A: Watching all of my visions come to life. From the collections, to the photography. Just all of it is so beautiful to see something I can imagine come to life.
